CONGRATULATIONS to New Champion "Melody" CH Redsage Hot Lil' Number Loved and proudly owned by Lori Spears. Melody finished under the expert handling of Tina Secord of Rocksprings Kennels. What a charming pair! In addition to this win, Melody earned 4 and 5 point majors along the way.
Our own Kyra and her brother Dexter traveled
with Katherine to
Long Beach, CA
in Dec. 2009 for the
local Christmas shows
and the AKC 125th Anniversary-Eukanuba show.

they spent time at the beach enjoying a
joyous romp in the
sun by the surf!

WOO-HOO for new Champion Redsage Defying Gravity! Kyra finished in Eugene, OR with a major over the boys at 12 months! Plus she garnered 3 BOS during the 4 day show!
Kyra was Breeder-Owner-Handled by Katherine & Sarah and our second Bred By Exhibitor Champion from Tasha's litter!
Sarah's husband, Rico is completely new to shows, but really loves it and has been learning quickly. Sarah was not feeling well one day last fall so Rico took Kyra in for breed and won! Kyra beat Opie, and went on to a Group 4 that day, just a week after finishing her Championship at 12 months of age. It was a real treat. Neither had ever been in the sporting group ring before! They looked like it, but the Judge chose to overlook the novice elements and recognize Kyra's qualities. Such fun!!!
YAY, DEXTER!
A New Champion at 9 months! He was Breeder-Owner-Handled by Katherine & Sarah and became our FIRST Welshie Bred By Exhibitor Champion, and first Ch from Tasha's litter!
After this show, Dexter went to his new home with John & Kayo Bourne in Colorado where he lives with his buddy, Dugan (formerly Wilson from Kaci's litter) and new friend, Maggie the Border Collie. John & the dogs start every day with a 3 or 4 mile hike!
Red Letter Day for Redsage!
Our First homebred Champion, Truman, was finished at 7 months by his co-owner, Carolyn, just one year after she attended her first dog show. Along the way they picked up 3, 4 and 5 pt. majors! Very cool!!
Truman, now CH Redsage the Buck Stops at Rocksprings,
lives with Carolyn in Colorado and is to soon move to Iowa.
Charming and clever, we have high hopes this Gavin & Kaci son will continue as a special in the future.
Melody is an adorable girl and this photo taken after garnering a 4 pt major shows her enthusiasm for the photographers' toy! She was ready to go get that squeaky!! Melody, a Tasha-Nash daughter, was being shown by Kit Goodrich and she is owned by Lori Spears.
The big California debut! The March show in Vallejo offered us the opportunity to get Kyra (top, with Sarah) and Dexter (bottom, with Katherine)
out at just 6 months
for a little practice
before the National.
Much to our surprise,
and delight, Dexter was
awarded a 3 pt major
over the California
competition, and Kyra
took Best of Winners
over Dex for her own
3 pointer!

Ruger is a hunting prospect, so his feathers are trimmed up. Looks like he is still a sweet guy with a funny approach to life.
