Puppy Evaluation:
Testicles normal, bite normal, good topline and anglulation with nice length of neck. Excellent movement and sweet attitude. Laid back and accepting personality as a pup. Liked to explore the yard away from his siblings and hang out with the adult dogs. Trained quickly. Truman was our Pick of the litter and placed with Kit's apprentice, Carolyn Zucker.
He developed slightly enlarged joints at front pastern (carpus) during growth stage of approx. 4 - 5 months. Comparing notes with long time breeders concludes that Welsh utilize today's ultra high quality nutrition too well, almost like large breed dogs. Especially males. A more moderate protein content after 3 months is proving to help avoid this problem.

Truman is our first Homebred Welsh Springer Champion having been finished with all majors and 1 single at only 7 months! Owner-handled all the way by Carolyn!!!
He is reportedly a water fiend! He refuses to stay in the boat when they go out on the lake, prefering to jump in and swim.
As a more mature fellow, Truman was shown at the 2011 WSSCA National in PA where as a Special we were pleased to see him "make the cut" in recognition of a solid and classic Welshie form with lovely side gait and properly converging front and rear movement. He presented a very handsome picture!
